Career Exploration
The process of identifying a satisfying career path and charting the course that will get you there. Session 1 - Intake meeting/presenting issues, determine assessment instruments if needed.
Session 2 - Administer assessments or begin career/personal exploration of interests, values,
personality, skills, aptitudes, work preferences.
Session 3 - Collaborate, interpret information,
SmartGoal and career development plan.
Sessions 4/6 -Finalize or continue clarifying plan and identifying/resolving
barriers to
achievement.
Job Search & Development
Assistance with search techniques, interview preparation, resume revision, and networking to maximize results.
Assessment
An individualized in-depth Exploratory or Focused
Career Assessment, utilizing a
variety of instruments, tools, and techniques. Full report of results and
recommendations delivered within 14 business days.
* Career Assessments for individuals are provided on an individualized basis in Anne Arundel, Prince
Georges, and Montgomery counties, Maryland (fee for service may vary, due to amount and type of
assessment instruments utilized)
**Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) career assessment services are provided in the
following regions:
Region 2 (Waldorf, Prince Frederick, Leonardtown, Lexington Park, Annapolis, and Glen Burnie
Region 5 (Columbia, Catonsville, Dundalk, Towson, and Bel Air)
Region 6 (Lanham, Oxon Hill, Wheaton, and Germantown).
Worklife Management
Assistance with on-the-job issues: workload organization; difficult co-workers/supervisor; new responsibilities; first-time manager issues; resolving conflict and productivity issues.
**For college bound or already registered students:
Although I do not provide academic advising, I am able to guide students through an information-gathering process about self and the world of work, in order to determine which academic programs or careers may be a good fit for them. As an example, career counselors can assist students with clarifying values, examining interests, identifying skills, resolving chronic indecision, developing insight into personality type, and communicating with parents about career decisions.
